1 day to go - all done

Boards done, well about as done as it will ever be, would like another day to do detailing work, but its being collected at 14:00 so it will have to wait.

going to keep all the buildings with me to try and detail a bit more tonight, fairly happy with the water, decided not to make it a "waterfall" but just a trickle in the then as greens underneath come through alot more than i would of thought.

so today i topped up the river, flocked the train track ready to go in, and painted some barrels, and a couple more buildings, still loads to go, but heres some photos of the layout pretty much done

only a short one tonight,

most important thing i did was start to fill the river, held my breath the entire time, scared the living crap outta me pouring it but it seems to be ok.

the milky blue colour is supposed to clear but to be honest i hope some of it stays as it looks pretty good as a gothic mist type thing (technical term there :P )

also arranged some other bits to have a general look at how the board was progressing which isn't bad at all :)

4 Days to go - small update

ok so its a work day today, i.e. not a lot done

i have 2 steel sheets to size, by hand with tin snips NEVER AGAIN, stuck these to the board with no more nails (or similar product)

Then proceeded to "ice" the sheets with polyfiller so that the paint and flock has something to hold onto

that "was it" for today although gotta say cutting that steel was a nightmare did i mention NEVER AGAIN

oh as a little aside, picked up some 'n' Gauge track and trucks to act as a mining line and hand cart

4 Days to go - Full Board Shot

will put up a proper update later but heres a shot of the board as of last night

6days and counting

ok so spent alot of today generally messing around with stuff, had problems with magnets that in the end took 3 hours, a couple of journeys to B & Q etc... but finally came up with a plan :)

completed a few things today including

yet more fences, i swear to god if i have to build 1 more fence i'll cry there a pain in the arse...

but still it means the graveyard is pretty much done, just got to flock it or decide what to do then done

Talking about flock I've done about 75% of the board now, the second coat is on and the third will be done tomorrow then just a sealant (once i've got somemore scenic cement) and its done

painted 3 building but forgot to take photos, only 5 left to do, have finished all the detail items so I have loads of creates, sacks etc... to put around the board.

all thats left is to blend the edges with the board

7 days to go - one of many updates today :)

so i got started pretty early today,

have finished the 1st coating on the trees ALL 43 of them... put the reeds in, air brushed the area on the left and the river to match, put some rocks in the river and flocked the whole of the left side, must say its looking pretty good.

8 Days to go - Quick Update

due to RL this has been slightly delayed, but never fear the weekend is here so heres a quick update of whats done and what isn't

As you can see a long way to go, but theres hope yet :)

the forest was going to use magnets so i could move the trees this is probably still going to happen but i need a sheet of metal that i can make up to a hill top so that i can do this as the board simply isn't strong enough to hold the magnets pull (bluetac caused issues so...)

also got another order from anticiti on the way so all systems are go again

ok its getting real close now, i have been doing bits but real life has kinda got in the way

anyway, i've placed a large order with antenocitis workshop for just about all the detail bits, including the water effect etc...

i've completed building just about everything now, and will be posting pictures tonight / tomorrow so hold tight cause the last 13 days are gonna be hectic :)

time starting to get short, no pictures today, but have built 2 additional buildings so i think i now have enough :)

27 Days to go - River Based

I managed to get the airbrush and compressor out today so i have undercoated and basecoated the river

this is how it started

the river was formed with newspaper and PVA ala papermache

i first gave the whole river a rough brown undercoat

followed by a camo green one

I then went over the whole river with a weak black wash, to get all the areas the spray didn't get

now just got to apply the water effect which i think i will colour with a hint of blue, which i'm hoping will give a river type effect.

this is a first coat on the church, going for a white wash effect on the timber and slate type roofing
